1. How old do you have to be to order?
You must be 18 years or older to order.
2. Do you show Work in Progress photos?
Yes and No, each day we post what we did for the day in our telegram channel, for all users to see. Once we get to big point in the process we post pictures on our twitter @StarSuits .
3. Is there a warrantee on your costume?
Yes and No. We will fix irregular things if your suit is within 90 days of delivery. We want you to enjoy your suit! If you ever have an issue let us know and we will see if we can help. Everything is done on a case by case basis. Please keep in mind that in some cases there may be a fee based on how much time and material is needed. New parts such as hands and feet can made as parts wear out. Shipping to and from will be on you. PLEASE be sure all of your parts are clean before shipping to us. Remember that the costume is clothing it will wear down over time.
4. What is a DTD?
A "DTD" or Duct Tape Dummy is a duct tape model of your body that we use to make sure of a good custom fit. There are lots of videos on YouTube to teach you how to make a good duct tape dummy. Be sure to take your time and make a great DTD, poorly made DTDs and result in a poorly fitting suit. We have a lot of DTDs coming into the shop so be sure to label yours with your name, furry or real. Duct Tape Dummies cannot be falling apart, bent at the joints, and/or not put back together, if your DTD is unusable in any of these ways, it will be rejected and you will be asked to do it again.
5. How long does it take to make a full suit?
The average suit takes 4-6 weeks depending on complexity. Please keep in mind that there that we follow a que system based on who paid off first, so your time slot may be further down the line.
6. What forms of payment do you take?
Square, Cash, Bank Transfer, Zelle, Venmo, & Money Orders. All quotes and payments are in US
Dollars (USD).
7. Do you do moving jaws?
No, any suits with a moving jaw currently where a case by case basis. This is due to the fact that we need to sit down with the person to ensure the perfect fit and we are currently unable do that.
8. How do you see and breathe in the suit?
Vision and ventilation are a key part of how be build our suits. You can see out of the eyes, and breathe out of the mouth. There is more ventilation in the head including hidden gaps at the base of the ears, as well as breathable material for the head sleeve.
9. Shipping Info
Shipping is not included in your quote. When your time slot comes up we will send you a shipping quote based on your address. Shipping can take anywhere from 1-3 weeks depending on the shippers processing. Please keep in mind if international shipping there will be customs fees and/or import fees.
10. What do need to send in for a full suit?
We will need your DTD, a pair of clean closed toed shoes (if not doing slippers), and filled out measurement sheet for your head and hand measurements. A form will be emailed to you during the communication process.
11. What if I don't have a ref? Can i just give description?
We do require a clear 2-3 sided ref with NO shading. We have our recommended artists under our concept art page, but free to work with whoever you like that can make a clear 3 side ref. Please keep in mind this will be used to translate into your suit so make sure you have all the details you want it on the ref before sending it in.
12. Do you offer any form of electronics in your suits?
We currently do not offer any for electronics in the suits.
13. "I have allergies." Do you have many pets?
Yes, we have two cats, they do come in the office, and we try to keep them out of any materials but they are cats. All of our suits and parts are washed before being shipped out.
14. What if I plan on losing/gaining weight?
We can do mild alterations but if you do plan a weight change wait until you have leveled off.
15. Can i supply my own materials?
No, we work what material we have to ensure the best quality product.
16. Where are you based out of?
We are located in the United Kingdom.
17. Will you make copyright characters?
No, we only make original characters.
18. Can I get more parts later on?
Yes, we are always open for parts for past customers. We recommend just all the parts you want in one go. Time can change the color of the fur, as well as new dye lots come out with slightly different colors so it may not match the new parts.
