Before Commissioning your costume you will need to read our Terms of Service.
Terms and Conditions
Quotes do not hold or bind you in a commission slot agreement. They are just a price estimate on options and character design. You must have proper clear 2- 3 view concept artwork provided to get an accurate quote, with all details listed. Prices are subject to change. We are only open for quotes when posted on our webpage, or any social media accounts. You can look at our website to get our base prices. The more intricate the design the higher the quote. Any changes after the quote can change to price based on the amount of work and material needed. Your project must be accepted by us to start the ordering process. You must make a payment and send in your proof of age to confirm your commission spot. We will not hold or reserve a commission slot. The best way to get accepted is to have clear concept artwork of your character and know exactly what you want.
Warranty and Prices
Any price quotes are subject to change. The number of commissions is limited per month. Star Fursuits reserves the right to deny service to anyone, for any reason, at any time. All work is guaranteed for 90 days upon the day the item is received. Any unauthorized alteration not made by Star Suits voids the warranty. The warranty covers defects of material and/or construction. Normal wear and tear is not covered by the warranty.
Star Suits requires a 30% non-refundable down payment to claim a commission slot. Final payments must be received by the beginning of the month prior to your commission slot month. No project will be started until full payment is received. Late payment will result in a later completion date or a canceled commission. We accept Venmo, Bank Transfer, cash, money orders, and cashier’s checks. International customers are asked to use PayPal for your protection as well as our own. We are not responsible for lost or late payments.
Payment plans can be worked with the owner on a case-by-case basis. The maximum duration of any payment plan may not exceed 6 months from the date that the initial down payment was processed. Payment plans still require a minimum of a 30% non-refundable down payment. Monthly payments must be a minimum of 100$, and the full amount must be paid by the end of the 6 month period. No construction will begin or items shipped until the amount has been paid in full. Shipping is not included in the price.
In the event that payments cease for any reason before the agreed-upon price has been fully paid and/or the customer ceases reasonable contact for an extended period of time, any amount that has been paid exceeding the 30% deposit will be refunded. In this event, Star Fursuits will retain the rights to the character design and all items related to the character, including any items that may have already been made for said character.
In the event that we receive no contact from the buyer after the amount has already been fully paid, we will hold the product for one year. After the one-year period has passed, we will issue a refund with the exception of the down payment. We will alter the product within reason, so that it will not be recognizable as a character owned by any other party in the event that we sell the product to another party.
We do not accept completion dates and are not held to a time. This is in case things come up that we have no control of. We will, however, ask if you have any period of time that you would prefer for our records. We can give estimated times of completion, but please understand that will not guarantee an exact time of completion.
There is no refund on the initial 30% deposit. This is the payment that goes to getting the majority of the materials for your costume. After the costume is completed there is no refund option. If the commission is canceled during construction the refund will vary on how much progress, time, and material was invested. We hold the right to refuse or refund in part or full at our own choice. We are not responsible for keeping in contact, or hunting you down for payments. We reserve the right to cancel any commission at any time for any reason. Any person or persons unhappy with their commission or products for any reason does not qualify them for any refund. If payment is not received on time your commission will be delayed until payment is received. If 120 days pass from the last payment, the commission will be canceled and any parts or materials will be sold by whatever method we decide. Any parts not paid for will be sold off at any time by any means we choose.
We require all fullsuit commissions to complete and send us a duct tape dummy or measurements. Subpar duct tape dummies will be thrown away and you will be asked to remake them. The better the duct tape dummy is, the better the suit will fit. Specific fitting preference must be indicated before the suit is started if you want a certain type of fit (loose, medium, tight, etc). If you are planning on growing, losing or gaining weight, or changing any size of your body, wait to make the duct tape dummy until after you have completed your physical change. We will keep future body changes in mind at your request. For example, if you plan on gaining weight after the suit is made, we can make the body larger than your current body size. We strongly recommend waiting until after you have any body changes to have your suit made. The tighter the costume fits, the less range of motion you will have. The looser the body fits, the more range of motion you will have.
All customers must be at least 18 years of age before sending any payments or contacting us for any reason. If the buyer is found to be under the age of 18 after any payments are made, said payments will not be refunded. Commissions will be canceled and any payments paid by the customer to the builder will be forfeited.
We ask that you do not make any changes to the costume once the price and completion date are set. Any changes made after can cause the price or completion date to change. We will work with you to cover any details before the commission is accepted. Please do not hesitate to ask about changes, as some minor changes will not affect the price or completion time. Changes that will affect price and completion times include, but are not limited to: added colors, added or changing markings, special requests, and anything that requires more materials.
Work in progress photos and updates
Work in progress updates and photos will be available on a case-by-case basis. We do not automatically send work-in-progress photos because it ends up slowing down the process. Once we start on your project, we dedicate a lot of our time and energy to the work. We will be happy to cover any details beforehand to ensure you end up with a costume that you are completely satisfied with. We do update our Twitter frequently with whatever we are working on at the time, so be sure to follow us there for the most up-to-date information. We also use Trello and Telegram and will do our best to keep that up to date.
Shipping is not included in the price for any commission that stays within the contiguous United States. We usually ship with UPS and require a signature upon delivery. We ask that the commissioner pays for international shipping. We will ship any international courier that you request. Once the package leaves our position, we are no longer responsible for it. Always check with your local laws and customs department before having something mailed to your country. Also, be patient! Large packages tend to get held up in customs. Delays in international shipping are beyond our control.
Star Suits requires concept art to begin work on a project. In order for a quote, we require concept art. The ending product will be made based on the look of the reference art. Small differences may be present as the final size and shape of the costume will most likely be slightly differently shaped than the concept art. We will do our best to get the coloring as close as we can be we cannot guarantee the exact coloring or skin type. Star Suits is not responsible for including anything that is not present on the agreed concept art.
Anything agreed upon by both parties in writing, including email, telegram or any other form of contact is a binding contract. By accepting a commission from Star Suits, you agree upon all terms of service. Star Suits stores digital copies of all communication for our records, and we advise you to do the same. We reserve to right to change or alter our Terms of Service at any point, and we are not responsible to notify any person of any changes.
You understand you are ordering a handmade one-of-a-kind costume made by an artist. They may contain imperfections, flaws, and inconsistencies.
